Dolly Rebecca Parton was born to Robert Lee and Avie on January 19th, 1946 in Sevierville, TN. One of twelve siblings, Dolly was never short a captive audience to hear her singing sweetly, her iconic southern accent gliding smoothly over the mountains of Tennessee. By the time she was twelve she was appearing on Knoxville TV and by the next year Ms. Parton was making her debut on stage at the Grand Ole Oprey. Though acting would later become an outlet for her, she didn't have to pretend to love all kinds of music. Dolly played the drums in her high school marching band at Sevier County High before graduating in 1964. In 1999 the delightful Dolly Parton, known as much for her buxom figure as she was for her beautiful singing, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
