Dwyane Wade High School:

Dwyane Wade College:
|Marquette University, dropped out.|
Dwyane Wade was raised on the South Side of Chicago and, according to him, mostly by his older sister Tragil. When he was little, he idolized Michael Jordan, so it is no surprise that he played for his varsity team at Harold L. Richards High School. In his senior year, after growing four inches over the summer, Wade set records for points and steals, but his poor academic record left him only three college recruiters. He chose to get an education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, receiving tutoring in college in order to gain eligibility to play for their basketball team. Once he succeeded, he shone on the courts and was named to the All-American First Team. Due to his being named as MVP and the general widespread attention he was receiving, Wade decided to leave Marquette after his junior year and join the NBA. Today he is known for leading the Miami Heat to their first NBA championship and being named Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated.
