Jennifer Garner had a conservative upbringing in West Virginia. She went to church every Sunday, couldn't wear make-up, and had to wait until she was 16 to get her ears pierced. She was, however, allowed to take ballet classes, which she did from the time she was three years old. When she graduated from George Washington High School in 1990, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama from Denison University, deciding that she wanted to pursue an acting career. A mere year later found her in New York City landing her first television role, and in 2001 Garner became the star of television series Alias. From there, she went on to star in big-screen blockbusters such as Juno and Valentine's Day; presently, she enjoys a successful career as an actress and is raising three children with actor Ben Affleck.
