Kevin Durant was raised in Washington, D.C. and played basketball from a very young age. He was in the Amateur Athletic Union in Maryland and on the basket ball team at the three high schools he attended: Oak Hill Academy, National Christian Academy, and Montrose Christian School. During his time at the latter he committed to an education at the University of Texas after winning the MVP Award. In college, his performance in the Longhorns earned him many awards and honors, including Player of the Year, but he left in 2007 after his freshman year to play for the NBA. Since then he has had a lucrative, successful career with the Thunder and even starred in a feature film, Thunderstruck.
