Boring. Typical. Bland. All things one would never say about the vivacious Lady Gaga. Born March 28th, 1986 in New York City, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was determined to make a difference in this world, no matter what. From the age of eleven Gaga attended a private, all-girls Catholic school, The Convent of The Sacred Heart. It was there she was awakened to the cruelty of others, having been mercilessly teased for her appearance and attitude. But, Mother Monster is nothing if not a fighter and a protector of her Little Monsters. She used the difficult times she survived in school to propel her forward and be even more "herself". After graduating from high school she became one of only twenty students who were granted early admission to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. As well as continuing her education in her songwriting and piano skills, Lady Gaga also composed essays and analytical papers on art, religion, social issues and politics. Ultimately she decided to pull out of school after two semesters to pursue her dream of performing and to better hone her artistic craft. Never one to shy away from the hard topics or the realities of life, Lady Gaga has built an empire, one laborious brick after another, paying her dues from the ground up.
