There didn’t seem to be much of a choice for Macaulay Culkin; the third of seven children born to Christopher Culkin and Patricia Bentrup, acting was in his blood. His father was a former stage and child actor, as well as being Macaulay’s manager for a while. Mr. Culkin started off on off-broadway shows at age four, by the time he was nine he had earned a role in Uncle Buck, nearly upstaging John Candy. But before he stole the hearts of us all as the impish Kevin McCallister, he attended a Catholic school, St. Joseph’s School of Yorkville. He received his high school education at the Children’s Professional School, which he dropped out of his senior year. He also spent some time studying ballet at the School of American Ballet. Though he struck it big with the Home Alone movies, by the time he was fourteen his career was stalling. In his later years, Mr. Culkin tends to be known more for his run ins with the law then his stellar performances—though he continues to push himself and always strives to reignite the acting portion of his life.
