The tragically famous Princess Diana was born simply Diana Spencer on July 1st, 1961 near Sandringham, England. She was raised by her father, the Earl Spencer, who desired his daughter to have a very good education. To that end, Lady Diana began lessons at Riddlesworth Hall, then continued her studies at West Heath, a boarding school. Known for her gentle spirit and her enjoyment of children, the Lady Diana went on to finishing school at the Institut Alpin Videmanette in Switzerland, meeting her goal of becoming a kindergarten teacher at the Young England school. In 1997, it seemed as though she had stepped foot in to a real fairy tale; she was reacquainted with the long-time family friend, HRH Prince Charles, heir to the throne. Though he was thirteen years her senior, they had a very public, whirlwind courtship and were married July 29th, 1981. It was the wedding of the century. This fairy tale, however, did not have a "happily ever after". Two children and fifteen years later, the couple separated, surrounded by much scandal and rumors of infidelity. In late August 1997, there was a tragic car accident and Princess Diana was taken to the hospital where she soon passed away. Thousands devoted to Princess Diana and her numerous charities and other good deeds, were shocked by her sudden and senseless death. Though her life was cut short, her memory and the legacy of her charity work is still alive and well, bringing help and healing to thousands of others.
